The Cemetery is sited on a small fenced section of land adjacent to the property known as 'Waitatapia' near the western end of Dalrymple Road, Parewanui. Access to the site is across the Waitatapia property, but the site itself is still owned by the Presbyterian Church of NZ. Permission must be obtained from the property owners to access site. It is a small European cemetery, containing 8 graves marked with headstones, and an unknown number of unmarked graves. The cemetery was used by the Scottish settlers of lower Rangitikei district from the 1860's until about the time of World War One. A church building erected by local settlers in 1862, originall ystood alongside this cemetery, but was subsequently moved to Parewanui Road and then to Tangimoana, where it is still in use. The most interesting grave in the cemetery is that of Thomas Scott (died 1892) who was the first European settler to take up residence in the Rangitikei district. he settled near the mouth of the Rangitikei River in 1849 and established a ferry and a hotel in the locality, still know as Scott's Ferry.
